Forget about setting goals focus on this instead.
The title of one of my favorite articles by James Clear (Author of Atomic habits).
As the calendar year rolls over, many of us look to review what our big rocks for the coming year will be.
I have found this article (link) from James Clear to be particularly useful in guiding me on what to focus on. I have included some extracts below.
“Problem #1 : Winners and losers have the same goals
Every Olympian wants to win a gold medal. Every candidate wants to get the job. And if successful and unsuccessful people share the same goals, then the goal cannot be what differentiates the winners from the losers.”

None of this is to say that goals are useless. However, I’ve found that goals are good for planning your progress and systems are good for actually making progress.
Goals can provide direction and even push you forward in the short-term, but eventually a well-designed system will always win. Having a system is what matters. Committing to the process is what makes the difference.”
So as the year gets into gear, we will be focusing on what world class financial systems we can build for our clients to help propel them to achieve their Olympic gold medals.
